Education

Dr. Eric Cooper grew up in Culloden, West Virginia and is a 2005 graduate of Cabell Midland High School.  After high school, Dr. Cooper went on to West Virginia Wesleyan College where he majored in Exercise Science/Kinesiology and ran cross country and track for four years.  Over his four years, he was a multiple time All-Conference, Conference Champion, All-Region and national qualifier distance runner.  After undergrad, Dr. Cooper went to chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where he graduated in October 2012.

 

Techniques

Dr. Cooper utilizes Palmer Package adjusting techniques as well as Flexion-Distraction therapy.  He is also certified in soft tissue mobilization techniques: Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) and Graston, which allows him to better and more thoroughly treat athletes.  Dr. Cooper commonly treats the following conditions: low back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy, knee pain, hip pain, and muscle strains.  

 

About

When Dr. Cooper isn't in the office, he enjoys staying active, being outdoors and time with his family.  He is an avid runner and cyclist and most recently competed in the 2018 Boston Marathon.  When he isn't working out himself, he is most likely playing at the park or hiking with his kids.  Dr. Cooper is also the Head Track & Cross Country Coach at Hurricane High School.
