Short to Discuss Weight Loss, Cancer Prevention Through Nutrition
October 12th, 2007
Barboursville, WV- Cooler temperatures are finally here, bringing sniffles, chills, and the occasional scratchy throat.
Fall and winter-time illnesses may seem inevitable, but with proper nutrition, individuals can feel great throughout the winter months, and may also protect themselves against diseases, such as cancer.
"The key to staying healthy through nutrition is to have a high level of anti-oxidants, which protect cells from damage. Anti-oxidants are found in many fruits and vegetables, and also in certain nutritional supplements," Dr. Short said.
Short Chiropractic is holding a special educational seminar about nutrition on Tuesday, October 16 from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Short Chiropractic office. Free anti-oxidant screenings will be offered on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 5:30 PM at the same location.
Tonya Simmons, RN, will be conducting the screenings with the Pharmanex ® BioPhotonic Scanner, which measures anti-oxidant levels in the skin and helps detect the effectiveness of nutritional supplements.
Dr. Short and Ms. Simmons will discuss the fundamentals of nutrition, how to lose weight naturally through healthy eating, and how good nutrition can alleviate pain and possibly prevent cancer.
Seating is limited and advance registration is recommended, but not required. For more information, contact the office at 304.733.4616.
